Plastic

Challenge

Marine and microplastics have far-reaching effects on the environment and global ecosystems. The spread of plastic waste affects both marine biodiversity and our food chain. We see the necessary further development of effective collection, sorting and recycling systems as a global task for which we are jointly developing solutions.

Strategy

We are convinced that comprehensive implementation of the circular economy principle reduces the impact of plastics on the environment. That is why we are consistently converting our plastic product ranges and packaging to circular economy and reorganizing plastics production and recycling. In doing so, we follow the principles of "ReDesign – ReCycle – ReUse – ReDuce". We continuously improve the environmental properties of plastics and develop ecologically sensible alternatives that are easily recyclable or reusable. Last but not least, we actively seek to exchange ideas with other market participants, initiatives and scientific institutions in order to further develop higher-level collection and recycling systems, combined with the establishment of appropriate markets, for example for recyclates, as quickly and in a focused manner as possible.

Target image

Our plastic is made from recycled and/or sustainable, renewable raw materials in a climate- and resource-saving way and can be used several times in the suitable product ranges. In addition, it is materially recycled after the end of use or, in the event of a lack of disposal structures, biodegrades biologically in nature without leaving any residue.
