A 400-meter-long cake, around 3,000 guests and a lot of attention for a brand that has long been part of everyday life in Spain: Albal® celebrated its anniversary at its headquarters in Alcobendas, north of Madrid.
When you say aluminum foil in Spain, you often just say "Papel Albal". There is hardly a clearer way to show how firmly a brand is anchored in everyday life. On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Albal® celebrated precisely this special place in the lives of many people – with an action that was both eye-catching and approachable.
At Cofresco Iberica's headquarters in Alcobendas, north of Madrid, a 400-metre-long cake was created. What was planned as a special anniversary idea quickly became a public celebration with a great response. Around 3,000 guests came to join in the celebrations. Despite the summer heat, the turnout was significantly higher than expected. Many stayed into the evening and created an exuberant atmosphere.
The celebration was supported by the city of Alcobendas. The mayor was on site and helped distribute the cake. Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, who is known in Spain as a chef and TV personality, brought additional attention. Their participation increased the visibility of the action far beyond the venue.
"The event was a great success for us. Apart from the attention and reach, I was particularly impressed by how united and committed the entire Spanish team was on this day. It is precisely this togetherness that made the event so special. I would like to thank you very much for this," says Leonardo Herrán, Country Manager of Cofresco Iberica.
The fact that Albal® has been one of the well-known brands in the field of food management in Spain for decades is also evident in the market. In the Food Management category, the market share is 14.5 percent – in an environment that is strongly influenced by private labels. In the aluminum foil category, Albal® is at the top with 13.4 percent. The brand also occupies strong positions in cling film, freezer bags and baking paper.
The story of Albal® in Spain began in 1976. Since then, the brand has gradually earned a permanent place in millions of households. "Since 1976, Albal® has been part of the everyday kitchen life of millions of households in Spain. We are building on this in order to continue to make people's everyday lives easier and more enjoyable with our products in the future," says Guiomar Uriarte Chávarri, Head of Regional Marketing.
The anniversary celebration is not the end of the festive year. From September to December, further retail promotions will follow with daily profits for customers.
