Our business is built on natural resources. For us, their protection is the basis of our future viability.
As a family-owned company, we think beyond individual financial years. Those who consume resources today help decide what will be left of them tomorrow. We take this responsibility seriously.
In the case of energy, this is demonstrated in practical terms. We are increasingly relying on renewable sources, generating part of our needs ourselves and continuously modernising our machines and systems. For us, climate protection is part of investment decisions from the very beginning.
We deal with water in a similar way. At our sites, we rely on closed cycles in process water and modern plant technology. This task is particularly difficult where water is scarce.
Coffee and pulp also focus on biodiversity. We know that we cannot solve these issues alone. That is why we are working with partners from the industry on more sustainable cultivation methods, supporting projects in growing regions and increasingly relying on certified raw materials.
A principle applies to plastics and electrical appliances that governs our actions: ReDesign, ReDuce, ReUse, ReCycle. We continue to develop products so that they are easier to recycle or are made from recycled and renewable raw materials. In the case of electrical appliances, we are also expanding our range of repair and remanufacturing services. This means that products remain in use for longer.
