Melitta financial year 2026 (half-year figures)
Melitta continues its successful business development in the first half of 2026 – despite the persistently difficult market environment
12.10.2026
Melitta successfully continued its corporate strategy of growth and resilience in the first half of 2026. In the first half of the year, the overall sales volume increased slightly, despite the continued challenging consumer and market environment.
The family-owned company recorded sales of 1.2 billion euros in the first half of 2026. In the same period of the previous year, it was 1.3 billion euros. Adjusted for the slight decline in green coffee prices compared to the previous year, which we passed on, as well as a company sale in Italy and the discontinuation of the specialty paper business in Neu Kaliß, this corresponds to sales growth of around seven percent.
"We are very satisfied with the first half of 2026. It once again confirms our strategic course, which we are consistently pursuing," says Jero Bentz, member of Chief Corporate Management and great-grandson of company founder Melitta Bentz. "Green coffee prices fell again in the first half of the year, which is reflected in the slight decline in sales."
To strengthen resilience, Melitta has already implemented various measures in 2025, which have made a significant contribution to the good development of profitability in the first half of the year. At just under 90 million euros, EBITDA from the first six months is already at the level of 2025 as a whole and is thus much closer to the long-term target of a double-digit EBITDA margin.
"Our organization shows adaptability and resilience. Our employees have once again impressively demonstrated this this year. We are tackling individual challenges consistently. As a long-term family business, we are thus well positioned even for volatile markets and geopolitical crises," says Katja Möller, member of the Chief Corporate Management.
This development has further strengthened financial stability: forward-looking and consistent portfolio and cost management not only strengthen liquidity, but also lead to a stable debt ratio of 1.9.
Positive development in South America and Europe
Business in South America in particular developed positively. In addition, the stable development of the coffee business in Germany contributed to the good result. The business with professional coffee solutions from Melitta Professional Coffee Solutions was also satisfactory compared to the previous year. This more than offset the declines in the European small electrical appliance business in the household sector. The further internationalization activities in Europe, especially through coffee, fresh at work and Roast Market, are also running according to plan and are contributing to the positive development.
Melitta continues its successful course in the second half of the year
Coffee and coffee preparation remain the main thrust of its activities. The family-owned company will invest around 100 million euros in the Bremen site over the next five to six years, thus building what is expected to be the largest coffee roasting plant in Europe. Proof of coffee competence and perception in the industry is also the award of the Melitta manufactory in Bremen as "Roaster of the Year" by the trade magazine crema.
"Coffee is the root and core of our range of services. With a strong focus on solutions for maximum coffee enjoyment and intelligent household helpers, we want to continue to grow internationally in the future and thus make ourselves even more independent of individual regional developments," says Katja Möller.
"For the second half of 2026, we expect the overall positive development to continue and to continue to successfully implement our strategy," says Jero Bentz.
